Griekse Bergthee Hele stelen
Komt veel voor in Kreta waar het ook wel Malotira (of herdersthee, Sideritis) genoemd wordt. De naam verwijst naar de Venetiaanse periode ‘malo’ ziekte en ‘tirare’ trekken. Groeit op onvruchtbare plaatsen in de Lefka Ori (de witte bergen) en wordt geplukt tijdens de bloeiperiode in juni. Bergthee is o.a. rijk aan antioxidanten en ijzer en wordt gebruikt als natuurlijk middel bij het bestrijden van verkoudheid en griep. Ook is bergthee vochtafdrijvend en zacht voor de maag.
De hele stelen kunnen zo genbruikt worden.

- voor een pot van een liter: 12-15 gram (een soeplepel met een klein bergje)
- per tas: 3 gram (een theelepel zonder bergje)
- opgieten met water van 90 tot 95°C
- 3 min of langer laten trekken
