Hoewel deze thee niet heel je eetlust afneemt, kan het de honger wel stillen. De thee is op basis van Maté een kruid dat veel theïne bevat. Een gewone tas groene thee bevat zo'n 40% van de hoeveelheid cafeïne die een kop koffie bevat. Maté daar en tegen kan tot 60% van deze hoeveelheid cafeïne bevatten afhankelijk van de infusietijd enz... zeker dus geen thee om in de avond te drinken. Zijn honger stillend effect daarentegen komt goed van pas tijdens de vastenperiode. De thee werd samengesteld met behulp van Indische recepten. De pittige maar toch fleurige geur en smaak passen perfect bij de iets frissere kant van de basisthee. De vastenthee kan je zowel koud als warm drinken.
